What food is good in summer in Shizuoka?
There are so many foods that I don’t know where to start.
As for sea foods there are too many to mention.
You should at least try eating Kinmedai (Splendid Alfonsino) from Izu.
In Hamamatsu and Mishima eel is best, Fukuroi is famous for crown melon, and Yui has Sakura shrimp and whitebait. Besides that I
haven’t mentoned green tea, Mandarin oranges and wasabi or Japanese horseradish yet.
Local Sake in each area is delicious too. And there is a wide variety of semi-gourmet dishes like Fujinomiya yakisoba (fried noodles) and Mishima croquettes.
